Damage Reimbursement Policy
- We offer up to $100 reimbursement for damaged or missing non-electronic items, and up to $300 for damaged or missing electronic items and instruments.
- Electronic items: Computers, monitors, televisions, speakers, and gaming consoles.
- Refrigerators and headboards with lights are not considered electronics under our damage reimbursement policy.
- The following items are NOT eligible for reimbursement, under any circumstances:
- Particle board furniture, desk hutches, and shelves (the kind you would find at Ikea). These are extremely fragile when transporting, and we cannot guarantee that they were assembled correctly.
- Wire shelves. These must be disassembled prior to pickup, as the shelves will shift during the transport process, causing the clips to fall off.
- Televisions that are not in a box. Bubble wrapped televisions are not covered under our damage reimbursement policy. All televisions must be in their original box or in a specialized TV box like this one: Expandable Large TV Moving Box – Fits TVs up to 70” | U-Haul (uhaul.com)
- Mini Fridges (surface damage only). Slight surface damage and small paint chips to mini fridges are not eligible for damage reimbursement. We strongly recommend wrapping your fridge before storing it. Be sure to fully defrost and drain all water out of your fridge before wrapping it.
- Mini Fridges that have not been defrosted and thoroughly cleaned. If there is still water leaking from your fridge, none of your belongings that get wet from your fridge will be eligible for damage reimbursement.
- Rugs and Headboards (unwrapped). Only rugs and headboards that are wrapped prior to storing will be eligible for damage reimbursement.
- Furniture (unwrapped). All unwrapped fabric furniture (couches, mattresses, etc.) are not eligible for damage reimbursement. Furniture must be wrapped or protected prior to storing.
- Functionality of Electronics. Physical damage to electronics is fully reimbursable. However, we will not reimburse for the functionality of your equipment upon return, as we cannot know if it was functional before storing.
- *Belmont only* Any item not included in the picture and inventory list sent to us prior to your (after move-out) in-room pickup will not be eligible for reimbursement.
- How to file a damage claim:
- All damage claims must be submitted within 24 hours of the move-in date on your delivery request form (if nobody is present to receive your delivery), or within 24 hours of receiving your delivery.
- All damage claims must be submitted via email, with pictures of the damaged item included in the email.
- Any claims made after 24 hours of delivery will not be eligible for damage reimbursement.
- Music City Student Storage employees reserve the right to reject the pickup and storage of any item that they deem unstable or too fragile to transport.
- For further clarification, please review Section 3 (Liability of the Company) of our Terms and Conditions.
